Pre-Season Rankings Update

After long and busy summer where we had chance to cover European and World Championships, many tournaments and other basketeball events new season 2018/2019 is about to start.
With new season comes a new rankings update:

1999

Newcomers:

Lazar Nekić is 7’0 big man with great size and lenght who will his third season in USA for Try City Christian School. Very versatile player who can play inside and outside. Possess very good jumpshot and ability to stretch the floor as PF. Soft touch around the rim.

Aleksa Matić decide to go overseas and to experience a NCAA basketball. After great season in BKK Radnicki he got an offer from D1 college Noth Alabama University. Matic is a guard who is known as a great shooter and scorer. We will see how he is going to fit in Tony Pujol system.

2000

Newcomers:

Arsenije Stepanović is 6’9 forward from Vrbas. He is now playing his third season in Italy. First two season he spent in Viola and after he adapted to country and club he started to play great and then the call came from A2 Serie team Mens Sana Siena.

Aleksa Ilić is back to his former team Zemun after year spending in USA at Woodstock Academy. Even thought he is overweight he is very mobile, well-coordinated, and fluid. Had solid mid-range shoot and can makes some 3’s too. Low post game still needs polish.

Aleksandar Šrajer transferred this season from Petrovgrad to Vojvodina. He was sellected this summer for U18 NT training camp but he didn’t made a final cut for EC. He will have chance to play in KLS for Vojvodina but also he will play for Petrovgrad on double licence which is going to help even more in his developement.

Srđan Krsmanović is 6’10 big guy who plays for Borac Cacak. Good size with decent frame and coordination. Solid low post moves and blocking shoot ability. He will play U19 Roda JLS for Borac but he also practise with 1st team and compete for KLS and ABA 2 games.

2001

Newcomers:

Vuk Borovićanin is KK Beko player. Borovicanin is one of the sleepers who exploded in the last year. He indicate what he can do last year playing U19 Roda JLS  league as two year younger. This year he will be one of the leaders on Beko team who will play again Roda JLS. Good shooter with great shooting form. Plays well within the offense, doesn’t force his scoring or try to do too much.

Strahinja Glišović 6’8 forward who plays for KK Borac Cacak. Good size and nice body who still has room for developement. Nice soft touch around the rim and from outside too. Needs to improve his strength.

Ognjen Miculović is quick and explosive PG from Beovuk. He comes to Beovuk two years ago from Beostars and since then he showed big improvement. Last season he got chance to experience a senior level games at KLS and this year he will probably going to have even more room to play in KLS which is the experience that not a lot of his peers going to have.

2002

Newcomers:

Filip Škobalj is 6’7 forward who plays for Rostck Seawolves from Germany. He was born in Belgrade, but at very young age he moved with his family out of country. He played in Norway, Sweden and after two season in swedish IK Eos he moved to Germany to Rostock Seawolves. Skobalj was member of U16 Serbia NT who took 5th place at EC.

Vojin Mastilović is KK Zitko Basket player. One of the most pleasents suprises this summer. Late-bloomer physically, looks like he still didn’t finish growing, body is weak, far away from developed. Has potential to be an elite level shooter/athlete package.  Lack of strenght is problem for now, can’t stand contact.

2003

Newcomers:

Mihailo Petrović comes this season from KK Prokuplje to KK Partizan. We will see how he is going to fit in bigger team with bigger competition. Very quick guard with good change of pace. Slightly undersized at the moment but still has room to grow. Was invited on U15 NT training camp this summer.

Aleksa Stanišić was also a member of U15 NT training camp. Player who is coming from Cajnice, Republika Srpska where he played for KK Vrelo. This season he transferred to Igokea. Good size and length with very solid athleticism.

Aleksa Obradović is 6’2 guard with great athletic ability.  He comes to KK Zemun this season from KK Ras. Much better as SG than PG. Playmaking skills is lacking. Very explosive. Has a good first step that helps him blow by opponents. Very effective in transition. Size could be a problem in future, doesn’t not have too much room for growing.

Filip Branković is 6’8 big man from KK Crvena Zvezda. He came to Crvena Zvezda last year. He has problem with overweight but despite that he runs the floor well. Very solid back to the basket game, with a nice repertoire of moves for his age. Reads the defense, draws attention and passes to open teammates. Needs to work on lateral quickness, he needs time to get himself really going.
